Sometimes, your knight in shining armor is just a retard in tin foil.

Please take note that I wrote this yesterday aka before shit hit the fan. While it is no longer how I feel at this very moment, I hope you still enjoy it and get something out of it anyway. :)

I spent the past half-year of my life trying to glue back the pieces of a completely shattered, dishonest and unfulfilling relationship partly because I didn't want to give up so easily, partly because I wanted to prove something to my parents and partly because I was scared of losing a good friend.

In the end, all I ended up doing was waste six months of my life in a depressed, frustrated and unhappy revelry. Plus, I lost that good friend.

grey Top Gun top from Romwe / black jacket from Folded and Hung / colorful skater skirt from It's Chic Finds / glittery foldable flats from Butterfly Twists / beige owl bangle from House of Luxe / silver sequinned cap from Zalora

I used to look back and hesitate to let go coz I was convinced I was letting go of something great; but then, while re-watching '(500) Days of Summer', Tom Hansen's sister reminded me: "I think you're just remembering the good stuff. Next time you look back, I really think you should look again."

I think that's the best way to move on. To think about all the shitty things you went through with a person. The days when you were under-appreciated, repeatedly lied to and left to rot in sexlessness, for example. #foreverbitter

Did that person actually ever make you feel genuinely good? And not in the puppy love kilig way, but genuinely. Did they do lil yet important things for you? Were they willing to go out of their way for you? Did they let you breathe? Did they always make it a point to compliment and thank you?

If the answer for any of that is no, then it's time to suck it up and face the fact that he really isn't your knight in shining armor, but probably just a pathetic jerk wrapped in tin foil. And, although not ideal, being single is probably the better choice at this point.

There will be someone better out there for you. Someone who understands your weirdness and embraces it, if not complements it. Someone who will appreciate even the smallest of things and who will never take you for granted.

Remember: don't stick to anything less than you deserve. Move on. God has better plans for you, so don't fight it. Have faith :)

Globe Rewards: Double Your Points Value This Weekend!

Fun fact: I've been using Globe for 13 years now (Sheesh. I'm a dinosaur!) and what I love most about them is that they have this rewards system that is easy to track and easy to use. All you have to do is collect points and use them up as needed.

If you love Globe's current rewards system, then you will love them even more now because this weekend, Globe subscribers will get to enjoy double the value of their rewards points at participating branches nationwide! That means that 1 point will equal to Php 2 now instead of just Php 1! Booyah!

I am personally super excited for this and can't wait to go nuts this weekend. Stay tuned to this blogpost to see how I make the most of my Globe rewards this weekend :)

For now, here are the participating branches that you can look forward to dumog-ing this weekend:

2pm to 5pm

Nov 29, Fri - KFC (Fatima, Congressional, Mendiola, Recto, Morayta, UST, Dapitan, Jupiter, La Salle and Roces Ave)

Nov 30, Sat - Ayala Malls Cinemas (Glorietta 4 and TriNoma)

Dec 1, Sun - Bench (HerBench Festival Mall, SM Mall of Asia, Glorietta 2, SM North Edsa, TriNoma, Superbench Market! Market!, HerBench SM North Edsa, Robinson's Place Manila, SM Southmall and Megamall)

Dec 2, Mon - Figaro (Shangri-La, Glorietta, Alabang Town Center, Emerald Ave and Greenbelt 3)

Have you decided which places to dumog yet? If so, all you have to do is visit the branch, get briefed on the promo (you'll basically have to text BAL to 4438) and choose what you want to buy! After that, just text BUY <mobile #> <points> to 4438. Easy peasy!

Don't forget to take your picture at the photo opp board afterwards for ultimate bragging rights! :)

Cinemajam: The Very First Outdoor Movie Marathon and Music Festival in the Philippines!

Ever since I watched Grease as a child, I have been in love with the thought of drive-in movies. So, when I heard that Crizal Transitions, the world’s leading Photochromic lens capable of adjusting to any lighting condition, was hosting an event called Cinemajam, the first ever outdoor movie marathon and  music festival in the Philippines, I literally squealed.

Happening this coming weekend at Event Circuit Makati, Crizal Transitions Cinemajam will bring together some of the country’s top bands, two special movies, and a host of exciting activities to boot.

Callalilly and Bamboo

Gracenote and Itchyworms

Moonstar 88

Since I'm not that familiar with local bands, though, I am much more excited for the movies that they will be showing, especially since I loved "Limitless" and haven't seen “Love, Actually” yet (not a fan of lovey dovey movies, but I heard Rick Grimes from my favorite show, "The Walking Dead" is in it!!!)

A windfall of exciting activities will gratify your senses, too. You can get a free vision screening in the Optical Village section and check your eyesight, for example, or try out karting, bungee jumping, skating and kite-flying for kicks. Games and raffle prizes await you, too.

Tickets are available from Ticketworld at Php 1,350. Proceeds of the event will benefit the children of the World Vision Foundation. Get two (2) free tickets with every pair of Crizal Transitions lenses available in all optical centers in the country.

I'm Blue.

I've been over-thinking so much lately that I have actually spent some of my nights completely sleepless (not an exaggeration… there were two nights this week wherein I didn't sleep at all - tonight included).

I haven't felt this way in a while and I can't say that I like it. While I spend most of the day blissfully in-like, I spend most of the night dreading what I don't know and how much I might be sharing with an unknown number of people. I'm not fond of games or of sharing, so to say that I've been going through brain damage recently would be somewhat of an understatement.

While I have been consciously making an effort to detach myself and care less, it really isn't working that well. The minute I find myself talking to somebody else, the more I realize how much I actually like this other guy. It's a vicious cycle - one that can only be cured with cigarettes and, well, sleepless nights.

Anyway, since I've been feeling so blue lately, here's a blue outfit post for you. I know. I'm corny. Don't you love it?

blue cable knit top from Kashieca / cuffed jeans and snakeskin clutch from Tomato / black heart pumps from Chick Flick

Apparently, though, that's what it's like when you like someone - like, really like someone. People may keep knocking at your door, but you just don't open it to entertain them. What sucks is that my closed door seems to be an unreciprocated one.

As such, it's probably high time I got new contacts and opened my eyes to the truth, huh? I think this calls for a wine night with my blondies...

Nike Tech Pack Has Got Me Super Excited!!!

Although I didn't really grow up as a Nike girl, the brand is slowly growing on me, especially more so now that they are starting to release innovative and fashionable pieces in the market. Have you seen their tech pack items yet? You'll go gaga!

I think the mere fact that Rafael Nadal wears Nike tech pack products (and looks damn good in them) is enough to make me want to get some for myself. :p #fangirl

Aside from that, though, Nike's revolutionary system also provides a seamless transition from game time on the court or in the gym to off time with the Nike Tech Pack.

Not only does it embrace the modern look of sports nowadays, but it is also sleek, stylish and completely functional to boot.

How nice is this? Seriously. I can already imagine all sorts of different outfits that will go well with Nike's Tech Fleece collection.  It is now available in stores all over the metro, by the way.

I was actually also able to feel and try out the Nike Tech Fleece fabric at a bloggers' get-together recently and I'm telling you: the classic material used feels so incredibly soft, you'll not want to take it off at all anymore.

Since Nike understands the how athletes perform on court and off court, the Nike Tech Fleece fabric combines the best of what performance apparel can provide: ultimate lightweight warmth and smooth response to natural motions.

Aside from being functional, the Nike Tech Fleece apparel also has a streamlined look inside and outside that truly captures what the collection is all about.

I'm pretty excited to get my hands on the Nike Tech Fleece Windrunner myself. I think my only problem right now is which color to get it in. :p

When it comes to guys, most of my friends would say I'm superficial, but come on... WHO ISN'T?!?? :p

Of course, looks aren't everything, though. And I'm really not that picky in that department. All I look for is a guy who is honest, loyal and straightforward. Which makes me wonder why I ever ended up wasting so much time on my two previous relationships. #smh

Aside from those three traits, though, it also important to me that the guy is 1) friends-approved (David and Miko need to like him or no dice!) and 2) baby-approved. If I don't see the smile that can be seen in the following baby-outfit shots, there is no way I am ever going to give that guy the time of day.

Enjoy the cuteness!

Kenzo top and skort from Little Parisians / sandals from Sugarkids / cute genes from her momma :p

Syrena has been choosing her own clothes for about a year now and absolutely refuses to let me dress her. Fortunately, she's got some good taste. I'd like to think she has the same taste in guys. :p

What do you think of this look?

Monday, November 11, 2013 - Hang Out with Us Every Wednesday Night!

I haven't been so excited to share something on my blog for quite a while. I've always been an avid fan of and have always made it a point to help out and support them whenever possible. So, when they asked me to be part of their latest brainchild,, I did not think twice about it. The answer was a definite yes!

In fact, I panicked once - right after I got promoted to Managing Editor on - because I was so busy, I thought I wouldn't have time to be a part of it anymore. But I pushed and cancelled everything on my schedule for this and I'm telling you: I have no regrets.
This is one habit you will be happy to form yourself every Wednesday night at 9pm: :)

In a nutshell, refers to a web show that is a cross between a TV talk+reality show and a podcast. During the show, our blogging barkada will basically introduce you to our world by keeping you up-to-date on the latest gadgets and happenings, touring you around the metro and showing you different things that you need to see and try out, and even teaching you a few nifty DIY projects while we're at it!
Meet the barkada now:

Who hasn't heard of this blogging power couple? These guys have been making people kilig over the Internet for a little over a year now and they just keep getting stronger by the day!

Find out more about this power duo as they talk about love, life and blogging and find out just how makulit they are in real life. Trust me - you'll be surprised! The studio was a bundle of laughter during our shoot last week, thanks to them!

Seph Cham, on the other hand, will be updating you with live tweets, comments and feedback through The Social Hub.

You may be surprised to know that this tall hunk of a man (and special half to Trice Nagusara - sorry, girls! :p) is actually very shy in front of the camera!
Ana Gonzales serves as our resident DIY girl! :)

This means that she will be teaching us all a thing or two in terms of nifty DIY projects. If you haven't checked out her online store yet, then you definitely should. Her wired accessories (amongst other things) are to die for!
Then, of course, there's me and my resident partner-in-crime, Miko Carreon. XD

Words cannot express just how happy I am to be partnered up with one of my bestest friends for this :) I'm sure you'll notice right from the very start that we get along swimmingly together. And, since we generally already try out a ton of random stuff together during our free time, it is only fitting that we will be hosting the on-the-go segment of for you :)

In our segment, we will take you around the metro and show you how to ukay with style, where to eat on a budget, which gadgets to invest in and where to shed unwanted pounds, amongst other things.

#MikAnj :p will conquer the digital airwaves live every Wednesday, starting November 13 until December 8 (6 episodes) for our maiden season, via Google Hangout & YouTube LIVE. :)

My pretty outfit that didn't make it. :( Lol.

Choose to be happy.

I am a bit of an over-thinker. This is mostly because I want to avoid drama and hurting people, but it is also because I want to avoid potential heartbreak. (I rarely succeed when it comes to the latter, though.)

A lot of the time, I find myself worrying about what my friends will think, what my parents will think, what my future will be like and who will get hurt in the process that I end up getting so upset while over-thinking that I forget to be happy.

Well, last night, someone finally shook me out of my emo reverie and asked me what I want. And for the first time in a long time right now, I'm going to act like that is the only thing that matters: my happiness.

striped Batman top and dripping cuff bracelet from Front Row Shop / satchel bag from Impulse Co / Pokeball bottlecap keychain from Hodge Podge / black boots from SM Parisian

Totes just discovered this new awesome online shop called Front Row Shop. They've got super awesome items at affordable prices, such as the shirt above (who doesn't love anything Batman?), and the bracelet below (currently have a fascination with all things zombie-ish and bloody, thanks to The Walking Dead Season 4).

While shipping does take quite a while (not the shop's fault - definitely our postal service's fault), I am super happy with the items now that they're here. In fact, I wear this cuff bracelet practically everywhere now. Best part is that it goes with anything! :) And it makes me happy! Tee hee. :) I'm easy to please.

Another current obsession? Pokemon X and Y on Nintendo 3DS? Is it sad that I'm debating whether I should watch the new Pokemon movie in the cinemas or not? Gotta catch 'em all! :p

If someone makes me happy, then I should feel free to bask in his digital and physical presence as much as I want. If someone makes me happy, I should feel free to enjoy the kilig moments and the anticipation of hearing from him and seeing him and just being happy, in general.

If doing something makes me happy, I should be able to do it without feeling guilty or bad about it. If choose to be happy, I should be happy. So, please stop raining on my parade and making me feel bad for doing so. Please, go forth and find your happiness, too :)

Choose to be happy.

...except, of course, if your happiness means making somebody else's life miserable. Like mine. *ahem* Yes, this is for you.
